Interesting topic Leslie!
I don't work for individual clients, but the industry I do work in (fine jewelry), consists of a land mine of ethical and moral issues to confront. I often tell myself to get out simply because of the injustice of many aspects of the business...for example mining, which treats workers poorly, and pillages the earth's resources and is environmentally destructive. There are days when I think: "How can i support this?".
Then I go to work and collect a paycheck and stop thinking about it.
This is a huge issue which overwelmes me, so I guess I put my blinders back on. Troubling.

Since I do publicity for a living, I think about this from time to time, too. Luckily the organization I work for now does something I believe is worthwhile, and even important politically from time to time.

But I hope I never have to pick between putting food on the table and working for a cigarette company. I don't think I could do it without seriously damaging my sense of self-worth

elizasmom's last blog post..The Manipulatrix
