Please go back up your computer. Right now. Copy your important files somewhere — removable drive, CDs, your web site. If you can, leave a copy of the backup somewhere where your main drive is not.
I’m sure you can imagine why I’m writing this post so urgently. Back up RIGHT NOW. I wish I had…

Uh oh, did something bad happen Leslie?
Your post appear ominous. I hope you didn’t lose too much.
Which reminds me, I need to back-up my files!

David-
It’s as bad as you think, if not worse. It could all be gone. I’m mainlining chocolate as an attempt to cope.
What I meant to include in the initial post is the contact info for a great company to help with either your backup solution (if you’re thinking about it before disaster strikes, like a smart person) or recovery (if you’re me). If you live in Western Mass and you need computer help, call Core Solution Group at (413)584-5115 or http://www.coresolutiongroup.com. Ask for Manuel. And tell him I sent you.

Oh no!
Well, you made a good decision to try coping by chocolate. I’d do something similar. Preferably 70% cocoa.

Yikes! I kind of know how you must have felt. My work computer crashed back in March two days before I was supposed to upload a magazine. I don’t know how I managed but I rebuilt it before the deadline. Needless to say, my company finally saw the need for a back-up system after that.
I hope they were able to recover at least some of your files.

Nope, not even one. Total disaster. Happily I’m starting to catch up. Slowly.
